Government College of Engineering (GEC), Jalgaon was established in 1996.

The college is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University Jalgaon as this university was formed by slicing off the region formerly attached to Pune University. It is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
