Government College Karauli was established in 1960 with Arts faculty. Science faculty was started in 1962 and Commerce faculty in 1970. P.G. classes in Business Administration in Commerce and Political Science in Arts were started in 1977-78.

It is affiliated to the University of Kota.

From the academic point of view, Karauli, on the basis of its rich and prosperous heritage, has proved its worth for the promotion of students in achieving their academic goals.

The college has always tried to help the students in developing their hidden potentialities.
