Government Girls Polytechnic, Lucknow was established in 1963 and at the time of its start this was the only polytechnic in the state for imparting technical education to women and to develop their personality.

• The college is running 10 diploma courses at present in which two courses have been started in session 2001-02.
• The present available equipment in the institute are sufficient to impart training for diploma courses.
• Government Girls Polytechnic provides diploma program to the college students.
