About Gossaigaon B. Ed College

Gossaigaon B. Ed College (GBEC), Kokrajhar was established on 14th May, 1995 at Gossaigaon Higher Secondary School Building for inculcating quality education the student-teacher coming from different parts of India. Later on it had been shifted permanently its own building at Habrubil (Nepalpara), Gossaigaon in the year 2004.

The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati vide letter No.GU/AFF/20062371 dated August 4, 2006 from the academic session 1998-1999 and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhubaneswar vide letter No.ERC/7-54/CER-54.6(a)2/2005/835(1) dated March 18, 2005.

The prime aim of the institution is to impart qualitative education for the development the holistic personality of the student-teachers.

The college stands among the renowned colleges that impart B.Ed programme in Assam.

The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 45 % from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks in eligibility for admission.

Students here admitted based on the merit basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and / or in the entrance examination or any other selection process  as per the policy of the central government / university.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Gossaigaon B. Ed College (GBEC), Kokrajhar in its various department.
