Golaghat Engineering College was established in 2018 by Assam Government at Golaghat district, Assam.

Golaghat Engineering College is the sixth approved engineering college of Assam located at Bogorijeng Golaghat. It is spread over an area of 110 Bighas (44 acres) with a clearly demarked boundary wall. The college currently provies undergraduate 4 year degree course inthree branches namely Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Chemical Engineering. The first batch of students got admitted to this college in August, 2018. It is equipped with state of the art of infrastructure.

Its geographic location is 26*33' longitude and 93*58 latitude. It is located at a distance of 5 Kms from Golaghat Town and 22 Kms from NH37 at Dergaon. The nearest railway station is Golaghat Railway Station, Golaghat which is 6.3 ksm away from the college. The nearest Railway Junction is at Furkating, which is approxiamtely 13 Kms away from the college. The Rowriah Airport, situated at a distance of 35 kms from the college, is the nearest civil airport. Regular bus and train services are available from Golaghat ot Guwahati.

It has one Academic Block, One Administrative Block, 2 Numbers of Workshop buildigs, 1 Guest House, 1 Electrical Substation, One 4th Grade residentail building, One Boys' and one Girls' hostel and a Principal's Residence within the campus at present.
