Gokhale Education Society’s College of Education, Sangamner (Dist. Ahmednagar) was established in June 1969 and managed by Gokhale Education Society's which was established on 19th February 1918.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed course and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.26 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 27th March 2011. It is also an ISO 9001-2000 certified institution.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

It is co-educational private institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Ahmednagar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Shri. Haribhau Pataskar, the then Vice-chancellor of University of Pune, in the year 1969. College is running a course of B.Ed having intake capacity of 80 students and it is a recognized institution by NCTE.

The college has served the society in various ways. College was the recognized centre of Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production and Curriculum Research, Pune.

At present, the college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

Apart from these courses, the college has a recognized contact centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi to offer Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course through distance mode.
