About Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women
Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana was established in 1969 in commemoration of the 5th birth Cenetary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and managed by Guru Nanak Education Trust (GNET) which was established in 1919.
The college is affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The aim of the college was to keeping pace with the educational, technological and global concept of quality and excellence, the GNW fraternity tries to put in its best efforts to realize its mission of ‘value based, job oriented education’.
It was a woman self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Ludhiana played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Management, and Commerce streams and offers two years of post-graduation in Arts and Commerce streams with various specializations under Panjab University, Chandigarh. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma and Add-On Certificate courses.

- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
