About Guru Nanak College Budhlada

Guru Nanak College Budhlada (Dist. Mansa) was established in 1971 to tribute the 500th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (S.G.P.C), Sri Amritsar Sahib.

The college is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is recognized & approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The aim of the college was widening the wisdom horizon of a person for the development of spiritual tendencies and also to fulfill the needs of the ever-growing population of the city and nearby areas.

In beginning, the college was under local management an apex body of the Sikhs committed to helping the humanity, But due to less financial resources and other executive problems. Later handed over to S.G.P.C on 9th November 1994.

It was a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Mansa played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the Punjabi University, Patiala.

This college has conferred as the status as "College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)" as the best college by their Punjabi University, Patiala.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Punjabi University, Patiala.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Management, and Commerce streams and offers two years of post-graduation in Arts, Science, Management, and Commerce streams with various specializations under Punjabi University, Patiala. It also offers Post Graduate Diploma, Add-On Certificate courses.

The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life

The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 2nd January 2016 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
The college also has a hostel with providing all the facilities, security and good atmosphere, best suited for studies of the boys & girls coming from far-off places.
A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
The college consists of Women Empowerment Cell for aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women's empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs, other welfare activities and to analyze underlying causes through research to women discrimination and to generate awareness
