GEMS Arts and Science College, Ramapuram (Dist. Malappuram) was popularly known as Global Education and Management Studies (GEMS), Arts and Science College, Panangangara was established in 2008 and managed by GEMS Co-operative Ltd.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with University of Calicut, Malappuram.
The aim of the college is to eliminating the educational backwardness of Malappuram District in general and Mankada Assembly Constituency in particular by providing quality higher education affordable also to provide world-class higher education in the emerging new generation areas by making use of the advanced technologies and strategies in education to equip the students to face the challenges in life and to prepare them for the highly competitive job market.
It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Malappuram played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the University of Calicut, Malappuram.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, and Management streams and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts and Commerce stream with various specializations under the University of Calicut, Malappuram. It also offers Add-On Certificate course.
Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.
University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the University of Calicut, Malappuram, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
