Gyan Veer Institute of Management & Science, Sagar was formerly known as Gyan Veer Degree College, Sagar or Gyan Veer College of Education, Sagar was established in 2000 and Education Department was established in 2003.

This college was managed by Shrimati Savita Singh Govind Singh Rajput of Jila Panchayat, Sagar (R). 

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. 

It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed., M.Ed., & D.Ed. courses.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.41 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 3rd March 2015.

Also, the college got accreditation of International Accreditation Organisation (IAO) to providing international accreditation standards in the academic fraternity.

The aim of the college was encouraged to enjoy the Institute fine range of sporting and recreational facilities and take part in this rich social life and play a vital role to upgrade the society and development of the country.

Also, the main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

It is a co-educational self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Sagar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college is mostly intended to provide teaching services at the first-degree level, but there is strong need to motivate teachers to undertake research as part of their work.

The college provides a high standard of education at the undergraduate, Postgraduate levels like Educational, General, Technical, and Profesional.

The college is a multidisciplinary college has established a good reputation in Education, Commerce & Management, Computer Studies, Art disciplines.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management with various specializations Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

The college also offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.) courses under the affiliating university for the aspiring students.

The college also offers two years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) or Elementary Teacher Training (E.T.T.) course for those who have completed their intermediate with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized college/university under the affiliating university State Council of Educational Research Training (SCERT), Bhopal.

Students here are admitted who completed their intermediate from recognized college/university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the intermediate level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
