Rifu-Hul Muslimeen Educational Trust established a Polytechnic in the year 1992 for girls to promote technical education for women. Farooqia polytechnic for women is functioning at Udayagiri Extension, Mysore in a sprawling campus of 2 acres. The Polytechnic is affiliated to AICTE, New Delhi and Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka State.
Managed by Rifa-Hul Muslimeen Educational Trust Mysore (RMET), Farooqia Women's Polytechnic was established with a vision to bring ladies into the main stream of Technical Education. Minority Students did not had any exclusive opportunity to keep up their studies, hence with this purpose, Farooqia Women's Polytechnic was established in 1992.
Rifa-Hul Muslimeen Educational Trust (RMET), Mysore is a Registered and Recognized Minority Educational Institute Imparting Education since 1961. Formed in 1985 with the lofty vision of making top quality education available to eager students from the underprivileged and rural section.
The venture of the Trust has promoted opportuntieis for brilliant girls who are in pursuit of a technical career. The Trust also provided an excellent secured atmosphere for girl students by way of ample accommodation with spacious classrooms, Well-equipped laboratories.
The Trust dedictes itself in serving nation by contributing young, dynamic, energetic and industrious engineers from rural region of the district.
The polytechnic offers courses in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Fashion Technology. The overall intake of 90 students caters to the need of socially & economically backward class and minority students. The admission rules and procedures are reserved and standardized by the Managmenet and Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka State Norms.
In spite of academics interests, the students are also encouraged to exhibit their talents in sports activities, such as indoor and outdoor games, cultural activities.
Farooqia Polytechnic has highly qualified women teachers who are oriented with the current curriculum resulting in excellent results over the last few years.
The Polytechnic, therefore, is one of the most sought after institutions for girls. Public and Private Sector Undertakings conduct regular campus interviews for the selection of candidates.
