Farook College (Autonomous), Kozhikode is Muslim Minority College and an Autonomous College was established on 12th August 1948 and managed by Rouzathul Uloom Association (R).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with University of Calicut, Malappuram and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 29th January 1977 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A+" Grade (CGPA Score 3.51 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 16th September 2016.

The aim of the college is dispelling darkness and spreading the light of true wisdom all around, irrespective of caste, creed, language or religion through the dissemination of knowledge and other skills that would mold the young generation into exemplary citizens well equipped to face the challenges of the times.

It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Kozhikode played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college with the first and the only center for Assistive Technology in the country. Also, it is the largest residential post-graduate aided institution in Kerala.

It was originally affiliated with the University of Madras. Following the state reorganization, the College came under the University of Kerala in 1957 and thereafter under the University of Calicut when it was formed in 1968.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the admission criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

This college has conferred the status as "College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)" on 3rd November 2004 & "FIST support under Department of Science & Technology", Govt.

of India.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the University of Calicut, Malappuram.

It is the winner of Moulana Azad National literacy Award, R. Sanker Award (two times) for the best first-grade college in the state and the winner of e campus award of University of Calicut among Arts and Science colleges.

The college offers three years undergraduate and two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams with various specializations under the University of Calicut, Malappuram. It also offers Diploma, Ph.D. and Add-On Certificate course.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

The college also offers Distance Program Center under the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the University of Calicut, Malappuram, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
