Faculty of Social Sciences, Banasthali University was established in 1935.

Its affiliated to Banasthali University.

It is one of the oldest faculties in University. It comprises of six departments and each of these departments offers Bachelor’s and Master’s Program with the exception of department of Geography which is running at Bachelor's Program.

The post-graduate program has been restructured with the objective of introducing interdisplinarity.

The Faculty offers an innovative interdisciplinary M.Phil Program named as M.Phil Social Sciences (Economics, History and Political Science & Sociology).

In addition to research methodology and disciplinary courses, it incorporates pedagogy and interdisciplinary courses which usually do not figure in the M.Phil Programs offered by other universities.
