About Faculty of Fine Arts, Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University
Faculty of Fine Arts Pune is the part of Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University was established in 1916.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
It is affiliated to Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University Mumbai and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956
This college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
The faculty comprises two departments:
- Department of Music
- Department of Art & Painting
College is known for its academic excellence not only in Maharashtra but also across India. Students are encouraged at all levels, to take part in various state and national competitions, exhibitions, sports and other extra-curricular activities and has produced excellent results every year.
The University is committed to the cause of women’s empowerment through access to education, particularly higher education, through relevant courses in the formal and non-formal streams.
The College was established with a view to making education in various art faculties available to the students. The institution is to train young artists for professional careers in allied fields and create art awareness.
The College offers 4 years of program in Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) Degree in Applied Art.The teaching faculty includes highly qualified, experienced, dedicated and student-caring teachers. The faculty is a recipient of various State and National Awards.
