Eram Girls Degree College, Indira Nagar, Lucknow has a distinct place among the top girls institution of Lucknow, the city of learning and culture. The college was recognised by the Lucknow University in 1997, and the classes also began the same year,.

Our ambitions for starting B.Sc. classes bore fruits in the academic year 1999-2000 when we got further recognition to start B.Sc. classes in PCM and ZBC courses along with the Computer Science Courses. From this academic year we have been allowed to start Sanskrit, Persian, History, Home Science, Economics and Commerce classes. The college is presently imparting education only to girl students in Arts, Commerce and Science Subjects.

Eram Girls Degree College, is a minority institution and is managed by Eram Education Society without discriminating on religion, caste and creed. On the demand of partents, new branches of the college has been opened at Shaktipur Habibpur, Near Dhaniya Mehri Bridge, Khinni Chowraha, Maleraiganj, Barabanki Lucknow.

Dr. Khwaja Syed Mohd Yunus, Founder Manager of "Eram Education Society" was born in the family of Sufi-Saint Khwaja Maroof of Meerpur, Barabanki.

Dr. Yunus migrated to Lucknow with a dream in his eyes. In Lucknow he started a Madrasa in bylanes of old Lucknow at Baroodkhana, Golaganj with half a dozen students and two teachers of whom he was one. After years of unwavering commitment to the quality of education, hardwork and preseverance, today Eram Educational Society has more than 15,000 students, spread across 36 different campuses in Lucknow and Barabanki which include a Medical College (BUMS) with 300 bed hospital in Kursi Road, Lucknow. Dr. Yunus still nurtures a dream of establishing Eram University and a full-fledged MBBS College for which work has already begun.
