E.K. Nayanar Memorial Government College, Elerithattu (Dist. Kasaragod) was established in September 1981.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Kannur University, Kannur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

The aim of the college is that worked behind the realization of the college project was the strenuous and concerted efforts of the people in the Elerithattu locality and the neighborhoods.

It is a co-educational government Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Kasaragod played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the Kannur University, Kannur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams and two years of postgraduate course in Arts stream with various specializations under the Kannur University, Kannur. It also offers Add-On course.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the Kannur University, Kannur, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

Admission to all academic programmes of the college is conducted through the Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) of the University.
