About East West Institute of Technology
East West Institute of Technology (EWIT), Bengaluru Urban was established on 6th July 2001 under the banner of Subramanya Education Society (R) which was established in 1968. It is one of the constituent parts of the East West Group of Institutions (EWGI), a well known and a prestigious educational institution.
It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is also recognized & approved by All India Council for Techincal Education (AICTE), New Delhi to offers Engineering courses and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.77 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 2nd May 2017.
The institution was founded by Former BMP Mayor Late Sri C M Nagaraj as it was one of his great dream project, a visionary and an acknowledged educationist, a philanthropist and a social worker.
His prime motto is to provide a matchless educational assistance to every student of all social classes. He devoted his precious time, efforts, and life to interpret his ambition into a reality.
Now, the Institution is directed under the able guidance of his son Sri C N Ravi Kiran, Chairman EWGI, continues to drive EAST WEST FAMILY, following the principles of his father.
The institution is now, a treasure house of knowledge to thousands of zealous students’ community across the globe. EWGI upholds its’ unflinching fame in all respects of academics and is the exhilarating 49th year of academic excellence, honing the life of every student with a code of conduct.
The institution has 09 departments and each department independently functions under the supervision and dependability of the Heads of the Departments, and the Principal is the ultimate administrative authority releasing works with the guidance and approval of the Governing Council of the institution.
East West Group of Institutions offers different courses as per the need and requirements of students’ community and society.

- The Institute has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 25th January 2016 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually

- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject.

- The Institute also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology.
- The Institute consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
