About Dyal Singh (P.G.) College, Karnal
Dyal Singh (P.G.) College, Karnal was re-established on 16th September 1949. Though the college was originally established in May 1910 in Lahore by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia.
But It was re-established at Karnal in 1949 due to the untiring efforts of Hon'ble Dewan Anand Kumar, the Founder Vice-Chancellor of Punjab University Chandigarh and the founder member of the U.G.C. of India. It was established under the management of Dyal Sing Trust Society, Delhi.
It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in September 1956 under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (in 1st Cycle) on 23rd February 2004.
The college started as an Arts College, and gradually it became a reputed centre of learning in Science and Commerce. Besides the graduate courses, in Medical, Non-Medical, Genetics, Electronics, Biotechnology, Computer Science & Commerce, the college runs Post- Graduate courses in English, Hindi and Political Science as well.
The college also offers 5 years Integrated Course M.Sc. Forensic Science under the innovative programme sponsored by the UGC. The college is making progress under the esteemed guidance of Dewan Gajendra Kumar- an embodiment of rare wisdom, learning and love for academia - President, Dyal Singh College Trust Society, and the dynamic leadership of Shri R.C. Sharma IPS (Retd.), a man of letters with administrative acumen, who holds the office of the General Secretary, Dyal Singh College Governing Body.

- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed

- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 10th July 2005 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment
- For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment.
