Dev Samaj College for Women (DSCW), Ferozepur City was established on 1st May 1934 and managed by the Dev Samaj Managing Council.

DSCW was the highly prestigious and the oldest institute which boasts of a great glorious history as being the oldest women college of Punjab.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 1st June 1972 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - highest in India in the academic year 2013-14 with (CGPA Score 3.75 on a 4 Point  Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 21st February 2014.

The history of DSCW is a poetry of great vision, a saga of undaunted courage and epic of sacrifices, the colossal contribution to the devoted band of workers of a society of Dev Samaj.

It was a great vision and farsightedness of the great and illustrious Founder of Dev Samaj Bhagwan Dev Atma to build equal opportunities for education, work, and service for Indian women when particularly women education was considered to be a taboo.

Bhagwan Dev Atma was deeply stirred by the women suppression in Indian society. He wanted to regenerate mankind and transform the society through women education only.

After completing 78 years of Excellence in Education it had the satisfaction of knowing that it is able to chart new pathways and play its part in transforming India into one of the world's leading powers, a truly equitable society able to fulfill the potential of its youthful, aspiring population. Right now the college has celebrated 82 years of Excellence in Education.

The aim of the college was to deeply stirred by the women suppression in Indian society and to regenerate mankind and transform the society through women education only.

It is a woman private college, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of a Ferozepur City played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the Panjab University, Chandigarh.

This college has conferred as the status as "College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)" and the best college by the Panjab University, Chandigarh. Also, the college received the Star Science status by the UGC, New Delhi. The college also received numbers of an award in publication, offering scholarship also awarded by the different societies.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Computer Application, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations under Panjab University, Chandigarh.

The college also offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts and Science, streams with various specializations for the students. It offers post graduate diploma, vocational, and certificate courses as well.
