Dr Vellasamy Nadar College of Education, Thanjavur was established in 2008.

The College is a self-financed, co-educational college. Affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Dr Vellasamy Nadar College of Education was set up with an objective of promoting academic excellence as well as providing all round development to their trainees.

The College has been approved by the N.C.T.E (National Council for Teacher Education).
