Dr. Rajalakshmi College of Education, Sri Perumbudhur was established in 2006.

Dr. Rajalakshmi Educational Trust was executed on 20th December 2004 by Dr.S.RAJALAKSHMI M.D., D.G.O., as the “FOUNDER CUM MANAGING TRUSTEE” and Dr.S.Hari Govind M.B.B.S., as the “TRUSTEE”. Dr.Rajalakshmi Educational Trust began its The college is managed by under the aegis of Rajalakshmi Educational Trust.

Dr. Rajalakshmi Educational Trust began its educational service by “Dr.Rajalakshmi Teacher Training Institute “in 2007. Thereafter, the educational trust widens its educational service by opening “Dr.Rajalakshmi College of Education” in September 2010 with the recognition of NCTE and Affiliated to TamilNadu Teachers Education University.

Dr. S. Rajalakshmi, M.D.,D.G.O., the Founder of our college was an extraordinary , dedicated and proficient specialized doctor in Gynecology, mother care, child health and other diseases associated with women and children.

Even though at present she is not with us the everlasting educational trust is still flourishing by her beloved son Dr.S.HariGovind M.B.B.S., as our Secretary and her husband Mr.P.Sundararajan B.E., as our Chairman of our College.

Dr.Rajalakshmi College of Education is mainly established for the welfare of rural students by providing quality education to the teacher trainees. The aim of this Institution is to train the future teachers to perform the noble profession of teaching with total commitment. The Management, Principal and Staff strive hard to mould the character and inculcate dedication towards teaching profession and to develop all round personality of the young teacher trainees.

The college is affiliated to the Tamilnadu Teachers Education University and is approved by National Council of Teacher Education.

No stone is left unturned to maintain exalted standards in imparting academic and practical skills to the students, so that they become committed teachers with professional expertise and personal integrity when they complete their B.Ed.

The Major asset of the Rajalakshmi College of Education is its team of dedicated faculty heading the different departments.

Rajalakshmi College of Education was established with the noble intention of training aspiring youth of today, particularly students from financially challenged backgrounds, to become effective teachers.

The aim of this college in keeping with New Education Policy perspective is to promote excellence in the sphere of teacher education. Their students have been placed in and around Chennai. Many have been placed in international schools as well. The Alumni have been of great help with placements.
