Dr.Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial P.U. College, Udupi was established in 1983. Its affiliated to Mangalore University.
Dr. Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya Memorial P.U. College, Udupi is named after the philanthropic medical practitioner and family elder late Dr.Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya who dedicated his life to the rural poor in Nitte. The P.U College is accredited with ‘A’ grade by PUC Board Karnataka. Dr. Nitte Shankara Adyanthaya memorial High School was started by Justice K.S. Hegde former Judge of the supreme court of India and former speaker of Lok Sabha. The High School was upgraded in 1983 as a Pre-University College.

Dr. NSAM PU College is committed to impart character building education to the children of Nitte and the surroundings. We see education not only as a training for the youth but also a service to society and nation.
* It is under the aegis of Nitte Education Trust which has been in the field of education since 1979, known for its constant strive to excel in every field. Nitte presently runs 36 institutions in three different campuses located at Mangalore, Nitte and Bangalore.
* It is situated amidst salubrious atmosphere and gives conducive environment for the nurturing of young impressive minds.
* It aspires to create socially responsible citizens of our country.
* It prides itself on having the B.C Alva stadium, a multi purpose sports field which has 400 mts running track, a gymnasium, a badminton court, a basket ball court, a hockey ground, a football ground and a cricket net practice.
