Dr. H. N. Sinha Arts & Commerce College, Patur (Dist. Akola) was established on 2nd July 1966 and managed by Shri Shivaji Education Society (R), Amravati, which was founded in the year 1932.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the Sant Gadage Baba Amravati University, Amravati in 1976  and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 3rd February 1985 under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.09 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 3rd March 2015.

The aim of the college is inculcating gender equality, social awareness, scientific temperament, cleanliness, awareness about environmental issues.
