D.G.M.M.E.S Mampad College (Autonomous), Malappuram was also known as Dr. Gafoor Memorial MES Mampad College, is an Autonomous Muslim Minority College was established in 1965 by. Dr. Gafoor and managed by Ernad Educational Association (R), which was established in 1964.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with University of Calicut, Malappuram and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.39 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 12th September 2017.

The aim of the college is to lift for the educational backwardness of this region had been the absence, for a long time, of an institution of higher learning.

It is a co-educational private Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the rural part of Malappuram played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

Mampad College is the only associate college of the Delhi-based Foundation for Academic Excellence and Access from Kerala. At a time when the socio-educational and economic level of the Ernad region and the people was alarmingly poor.

There was no even UP School or High School in the Mampad Panchayath, which point to the extreme backwardness of the area.

It was this grim reality that impelled the famous scholar and reformer, late C.N Ahamed Moulavi to persuade late Athan Moyin Adhikari, a landlord and philanthropist residing at Mampad to establish an institution in a rural area in Mampad village.

A large number of people here belong to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Muslims and other backward communities.

The college with eleven programs at the undergraduate level, seven at the postgraduate level, it is the biggest aided arts and science college in Malappuram District.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the admission criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the University of Calicut, Kerela.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts and Science with various specializations under the University of Calicut, Malappuram. It also offers Add-On Certificate course.

UG courses are under Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS) and PG courses are under Credit and Semester System (CSS) of the affiliating university.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the University of Calicut, Kerela, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
