Dr. Ashutosh Das Memorial PTTI (DADMPTTI), Hooghly was established in 2003. The college offers two years of Diploma in Education course.

The institution was named after the freedom fighter Dr. Ashutosh Das, who was also a physician and devoted his service for the mass of the rural Bengal. The institute is affiliated to West Bengal Board of Primary Education and is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The college consists of all the basic amenities in its campus, to ensure the overall development of the students. The teachers of this Institute have been doing their level best to impart the best sort of training to the trainees hare. Special stress is laid upon both the curricular and co-curricular activities of trainees, educational tours, Computer training, games and sports and participation multifarious social work here. To sum up, various plans for further extension of this Institute have also been taken up by the Governing Body make this institute a model one to all concerned.

Dr. Ashutosh Das Memorial Primary Teachers' Training Institute was established in the year 2003 on a piece of land and a building owned by Dr. Ashutosh Das Trust Board, a private Trust, as a token of request and to commemorate the relentless contribution of Dr. Ashutosh Das in freedom fight and upliftment of rural Bengal, special Haripal, in pre-independence era. Till his demise in the year 1941 Dr. Ashutosh Das devoted his life to illuminate the life of people in thier socio-economic structure and he relentlessly worked in the field of education, health, culture and thereby to generate awareness to men and women in general. As Dr. Ashutosh Das was one of the luminaries amongst freedom fighters and social workers in the district of Hoogly, he was very much adorned by the public in general and he was honored with the title 'Pally Bandhu' [Friend of Rural People].

Our Institute Dr. Ashutosh Das Memorial PTTI acts as a centre of excellence to intensity teacher education for improving quality and performance.

Our chief mission is to equip the prospective teachers with necessary pedagogic skills for future, enabling the teacher to acquire understanding of child psychology, developing proper attitudes towards teaching & self-confidence.

We also trying to enable the teachers to under stand the significance of individual difference of child and to take appropriate steps for thier optimum development.
