Dr Anita Baurah Sarmah College of Education, Kamrup is a teacher training college was established on 1st February, 2004.

This college was established earlier by NERIM educational society in the name of "NERIM Teachers Training College", however the name of the college was later proposed as "Dr Anita Baurah Sarmah College of Education" in the year 2006.

The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide its letter No.ERC/7-58.6.8/2005/2362 dated 20-07-2005.

The institute offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 50 % from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

The approved intake capacity in this college is 100. NCTE has sanctioned an Intake of 100 seats for B.Ed. course in this College of Education vide its order No. ERC/7-58.6.8/2005/2362 dated 20-07-05.

As per approved regulations of Gauhati University, a candidate possessing at least 50% marks in the aggregate in B.A / B.Sc./ B.Com. (10+2+3 pattern) or M.A / M.Sc./ M.Com. examination of a recognized University is eligible for the B.Ed. Programme, provided the applicant has offered at least two school subjects of the first / or second degree level. However, there is relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates belonging to ST / SC / OBC / MOBC.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Dr Anita Baurah Sarmah College of Education, Kamrup in its various departments.

• Provide qualitative training for improvement of the skill of untrained teachers working in the Secondary schools in the country

• Provide pre-service training to the educated youths for their future career in teaching
• Accelerate the training and development process for the untrained teachers of the country
