Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (Dr. AIT), Bangalore was established in 1980. Its affiliated to Bangalore University.

Dr.AIT was started in the year 1980 under the auspices of Panchajanya Vidya Peeta Welfare Trust. Being a premier and oldest engineering college in the state of Karnataka Dr. AIT is situated in the garden city Bangalore. Aided by Government of Karnataka, is affiliated to VTU Belagavi, Karnataka & approved by AICTE, New Delhi. An autonomous institution offering 11 under graduate programs, 10 post graduate programs & having 15 research centers. The college is recognized for its excellent academic achievements and granted TEQIP-1,2 &3 financial assistance under World Bank Scheme. The college has got an excellent teacher-learning environment with dedicated and qualified teaching faculty with an experience of more than 30 years. There are quite a good number of qualified technical staff to take care of state of the art laboratories. The college has got a separate training and placement office with a qualified placement officer to facilitate and bring reputed recruiters for on campus placement.
