About Dogra College of Education

Dogra College of Education, Jammu was established in October 1994 Vide Letter no. Edu/ PA/86/94 dated 28/04/1994 in the newly built accommodation in the premises of Dogra Hr. Sec. School, Shastri Nagar.

The present campus of Dogra college of Education was formally inaugurated on 18th Dec. 1997 by Dr.Farooq Abdullah, Honorable Chief Minister of J&K State at that time.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to University of Jammu, Jammu and by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) in January 2009 under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Jaipur and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.61 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 1st May 2015.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

  • The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
  • To ensure quality initiatives the college has undergone the process of ISO 9001:2008 in the year 2007 and has duly been certified through SGS Certifying body of UK under Certification No. SG07/1200
  • The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
  • Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs

  • The college also has a hostel with providing all the facilities, security and good atmosphere, best suited for studies of the boys & girls coming from far-off places
