Dnyan Ganga Education Trust's College of Education, Thane was established in August 2008 as an Unaided English medium, co-educational institute and managed by Charitable Trust named Dnyan Ganga Education Trust (DGET) which is Registered with Charity Commissioner, Mumbai, Under the Public Trust Act, 1950.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to University of Mumbai, Mumbai. It is recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal.

The college is working under the guidance and sponsorship of Dnyan Ganga Education Trust is committed to the cause of producing competent teachers.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course in the Marathi /Hindi /English languages for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college also offers Diploma in School Mangement course and ICT affiliated to Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University  (YCMOU), Nashik. DGET, B.Ed has become a resource centre for education due to its prominent achievements in teacher preparation, co-curricular activities. The alumni of the college are well-placed in esteemed educational institutions both locally as well as globally.
