DES'S Navinchandra Mehta Institution of Technology and Development (NMITD), Dadar was established in 2008. Its affiliated to University of Mumbai.

DES's Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development, belongs to the prestigious Deccan Education Society, who pioneered education of the masses when Christian missionaries were facilitating education from primary to post graduate education. Established by freedom fighters, In 1890 Deccan Education Society, Which is now 130 years old and has 43 educational institutes in its ambit, has a galaxy of Alumni which include:

* Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Deccan Education Society, Pure firmly believes value based professional education which is inclusive. The founders of the Deccan Education Society belonged to the Independence struggle of India and hence believed in crore democratic values of liberty & equality.

As a mark of its second centennial, Deccan Education Society (DES) had taken an ambitious project of starting Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Tecnhology and Development in the city of Mumbai on 1st July, 2008. NMITD is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and Approved by DTE. The Institute offers two programmes of University of Mumbai namely Master of Computers Applications (MCA), A three year post graduation programme and Master of Management Studies (MMS), a two year post graduation programme.
