DES's Bangurnagar Arts, Science & Commerce College, Dandeli (Dist. Uttara Kannada) was established on 15th June 1974 under the auspices of Dandeli Education Society, Dandeli the premier educational network of Dandeli.

It is one of the premier colleges in North Karnataka established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Karnatak University, Dharwad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 15th October 1976 & 12(B) 22nd November 1993 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.79 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 5th May 2014.

The college has served the cause of education in this hilly, tribal, and largely backward region for the last three and half decades and more.

The institution has been a pathfinder in quality education in this region. The college was one of the earliest colleges in Karnataka to be assessed by an external quality assurance agency, NAAC, even when the accreditation was purely voluntary.

In the last 5 years, the college has made the significant contribution to curricular aspects. Most of the programs have been updated in the last five years.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce streams and offers four years undergraduate course in Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.). It also offers two years postgraduate course in Science & Commerce streams under Karnatak University, Dharwad.
