Department of Communication and Journalism - Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (Women's University) is a constituent unit of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (Women's University) was founded in the year 1983.

The department tries to sensitize the students to the new technologies of communication, which will enable them to gain employment in this age of information. They are trained for careers in Journalism, Media Management, Public Relations, Advertising and Television Production.

The department offers excellent training in Photography, Computers, Multimedia, Video Production and Editing. Television production is taught in sophisticated labs and in association with the media industry for students to gain hands-on experience in the new media.

At present, the department offers postgraduate courses in Master’s Course in Communication and Journalism (MCJ) and Master’s of Bussiness Management (MBA) in Media Management.
