Department of Commerce-Osmania University, Hyderabad was established in 1945.

Its affiliated to Osmania University.

with the launching of Bachelor of Commerce Degree.

The department has been making intensive efforts to improve its profile, by serving the community on different fronts, in the form of imparting education through various courses, undertaking projects financed by the UGC, State Government, Industrial establishments and encouraging intensive research on topics of contemporary relevance.

The services of the department are being provided not only to Andhra Pradesh in the form of formal system of education, but also to the entire country in the form of distance and open learning.
