Department of Business Administration – SRM University, Chennai was established in 2007. Its affiliated to SRM University.
The department of Business Administration was started in the year 2007 with 49 Students with the objective of giving quality education and to enable the student community to take up responsibility of building managerial skills with a view to moulding them as management leaders, senior administrators and executives in the industry. Initially this Department commenced its activities within the department of Commerce but started functioning independently from June 2009. Currently the department boasts student strength of about 500, and one of the largest in the Faculty of Science and Humanities offering the Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
Students are required to complete 30 days institutional training in public or private limited company and they have to submit a group project report. The syllabus is revised periodically to reflect the current academic and employment environments. The specializations that a student is exposed to include Human Resources Management, Management Principles, Business Communication, Financial and Management Accounting, Banking, Entrepreneurial Development, Business and Company Law and Insurance.
The department has an excellent track record in placement of graduating students in many of top tier corporate houses in India and in the southern states.
