Deomornoi B.Ed College, Darrang was established in 1993 by a young, dedicated, future thinkers, and lovers of education of this greater locality.

The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati & recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi in 2009.

History:

There is only one Govt. Teaching Training College in Darrang district. Due to lack of adequate facilities, a vast number of Teacher and youths are failing to have requisite training for teaching job. Keeping in mind to produce perspective and effective youths for teaching job, the people of Deomornoi Area, were searching alternative teacher training institute for Darrang District. For that purpose, under the agies of  Mr. Harendra Nath Sarmah, Mr. Mati Ram Saikia, Mr. Uday Bhaskar Sarmah and Dr. Ramesh Goswami a meeting was held on 05/07/1993. In this meeting an ADVISORY BOARD was formed as follows -

1. Dr. Sarat Ch. Sarmah, B.Sc., M.Ed., Ph.D.
2. Mr. Kami Nath Deka, B.Sc., B.T.
3. Mr. Pado Ram Deka, M.A., B.T.
4. Mr. Niranjan Goswami, M.A., B.Ed.
5. Mr. Nila Kumar Sarmah, M.A., B.Ed.
 
There was also another general meeting held on 25/07/1993 convened by 5 members advisory board under the president ship of Mr. Nabin Ch.Sarmah as ex-teacher and decided to established a B.Ed. College. This was the "Establishment" date of DEOMORNOI B.ED. COLLEGE and the college was started from that session in 1993-94.

The first permission for starting the college was given by Gauhati University, Guwahati by an office letter in vide No. E.C. Res. No. 94/5/45 (I) dated 11.2.1994. in 1993-94.

Students here are admitted who completed there graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.) and Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks in eligibility for admission.

The institute offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 45 % from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Deomornoi B.Ed College, Darrang in its various departments.
