About Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women
Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana was formerly known as Behan Devki Devi Jain college established in 1971 and managed by S. S. Jain Girls School Committee.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.03 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 5th November 2016.
The aim of the college was to deeply stirred by the women suppression in Indian society and to regenerate mankind and transform the society through women education only.
By the Management of S.S. Jain Girls School Committee and inspired by the motivating Principles of women education and women development as lived and preached by the great saintly lady Behan Devki Devi Ji. Behan Devki Devi Ji was an eminent educationist of her times.
She was the founder Principal of Jain Girls Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana who always cherished the dream of providing higher education to the children of this backward industrial area of Ludhiana irrespective of class, caste, religion or language.
It is a woman self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Ludhiana played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Commerce, Management streams with various specializations under Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The college also offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams with various specializations for the students.
It offers Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, and Add-On Certificate courses as well.

- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs

- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
