Don Bosco Arts & Science College, Angadikadavu (Dist. Kannur) is Roman Catholic Christian Minority College was popularly known as Parallel College, established in 1992 and managed by Salesian Society of Catholic Priests and Brothers (R), which was established in 1859.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Kannur University, Kannur formerly affiliated with University of Calicut, Malappuram and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (in 1st Cycle) on 10th December 2014.

The aim of the college is to promote excellence through a holistic educational environment that offers learning and training which can meet the changes and challenges in the socio-cultural demands of the day also committed to a sound moral and spiritual base that nurtures honesty, integrity, respect for others and responsibility.

It is a co-educational self-financed Institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Kannur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

Don Bosco College is a branch of Don Bosco International Educational Services, a global brand for quality.

The college had humble beginning in 1994 as a Parallel College, offering pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate courses of Calicut University, Malappuram for about 600 students.

It was in 2002 that Don Bosco Parallel College was elevated to an affiliated Self-Financing College of Kannur University, Kannur with Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A.) as its only academic programme.

The two new postgraduate programmes, Master of Communication and Journalism (M.C.J.) and Master of Social Work (M.S.W.), were introduced in 2003.

Also, the three undergraduate programmes, BA English Literature, B.Com. and B.Sc. Mathematics was launched in 2005.

As per the requirements of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Don Bosco Arts & Science College was formally bifurcated from Don Bosco College to a new campus on 8th November 2008.

Later three undergraduate programmes (B.Com. Co-operation, B.B.A. & B.C.A.) and two postgraduate programmes (M.A. English Literature and M.Com. Finance) were added in 2012 and Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) was launched in 2015.

The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under the Kannur University, Kannur.

The college offers three years undergraduate and two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, and Science streams with various specializations under the Kannur University, Kannur. It also offers Add-On course.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the Kannur University, Kannur, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
