D.P. Mishra Institute for Advanced Studies in Special Education and Technology, Kodala (Dist. Ganjam) was a research oriented advanced college was established on 5th September 2008 and opened the college by Swamy Chetananda Sarswati Maharaj.

Later the college was inaugurated by Sri Muralidhar Chandr Kanta Bhandare, The Governor of Orissa on 22nd December 2009 to offers Special B.Ed. training for the Mental Retardation (MR) students who were mentally retarded and disabled.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Berhampur University, Berhampur. It is recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhubaneswar.

It is also recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhi & Govt. of Odisha.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

It is a co-educational private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Ganjam played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college offers two years special Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted with relaxation with the fees and the facility. For Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
