Damani Premratan Bhairuratan Dayanand College of Education, Solapur was popularly known as D.P.B. Dayanand College of Education, Solapur was established in June 1955 and managed by Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Trust and Management Society [DAV CMS] - (R), which was established on 31st January 1886.

Swami Dayanand established the Arya Samaj in 1875. It is a reformation movement founded by Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati to manifest the Vedic precept of Krinvanto Vishwam Aryam (Be noble and make the world better).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college is affiliated with the Solapur University, Solapur in July 2004 and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) in January 1969 & 12(B) in March 2010 under Act, 1956.

It is recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed., M.Ed. Courses etc. & re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.56 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 17th March 2016.

It is now the oldest & biggest non-governmental educational organization in India. Damani Premratan Bhairuratan Dayanand College of Education broadly the entire spectrum of educational activity in the country.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college offers two years Master of Education (M.Ed.) course for those who have completed their Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with the minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the graduation level. The college has Ph.D. study research centre of a faculty of Education of Solapur University, Solapur. The college also runs B.Ed. two years distance mode in-service course of Yashvantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nashik and also Diploma in School Management (DSM) of YCMOU. The college is an Extension Centre of Government of Maharashtra for Solapur district.
