Cooch Behar B.Ed. Training College (CBTC), Cooch Behar was started for the development of well trained teachers to fulfill the need of qualified teachers in the region. The college stands among the renowned colleges that impart one year B.Ed programme in West Bengal. Qualified teachers are associated with the college, in order to impart quality education. In the college campus, the students are groomed to become able teachers. The college offers all the basic amenities in its campus. The College is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is affiliated to North Bengal University, established in 1962 with a goal to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the six North Bengal districts and the neighboring state of Sikkim. This was the first university in the region. The University has played a pioneering role since inception in spreading higher education and scientific attitudes within the predominantly rural areas that comprise its vast jurisdictional territory.
