College of Education Christian Basti, Christian Basti was established in 1987 and located in Dispur, the ancient and former capital of Assam.

The college was set up with an objective of promoting educational development in the region by providing trained manpower to the teaching profession.

The aim of the college is to develop skills required in selecting and organizing learning experiences and to develop skills involved in dealing with the academic and personal problems of learners.

The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati established in 1948 under the Guwahati University Act 1947 and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi, in the year 2005.

Students here are admitted who completed there graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.) and Scheduled Tribes (S.T.), (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks in eligibility for admission.
