Gokhale Education Society's College of Education, Sangamner (Dist. Ahmednagar) was popularly known as College of Education, Sangamner was established in June 1969 and managed under Gokhale Education Society. The college is among the known educational institution of the state.

The Gokhale Education Society is a multidimensional education institution spread all over the India and imparting higher education in the faculties of Arts, Commerce, Science, Law & Education.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune in December 1960 and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed. course and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.26 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 27th March 2011.

It is a Marathi / English medium, co-educational, the private institute, providing a regular course which is located in the rural part of Maharashtra played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. the campus is located in another city also as a different name of institutions.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.

But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

The college also has a Contact Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi to offer two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course for aspiring students through distance mode.
