Chittaranjan College, Kolkata was established in 1967.  The college is affiliated to the Calcutta University. It is the oldest of the modern universities in India.

It is a self financing, co-education college. It a old and renowned college. The college has a big part to promote higher education in this location. It was named after Chittaranjan Das, an eminent Bengali lawyer and a major figure in the Indian independence movement.
