Chellammal Women's College (CWC), Chennai was established in 1971.
Its affiliated to University of Madras.
The college plays a significant role among the various educational institutions of Pachaiyappa’s Trust in imparting education to the women students of the economically and socially backward sections of the society.
The college is named after the philanthropist Mylai Chellammal, wife of Thiru.Vadamalai Gramani who donated her land to Pachaiyappa’s Trust for thecause of women.
The foundation stone was laid by the then Education Minister of the State Thiru. Navalar Nedunchezian on 22nd July 1971 on 12 acres of land.
