Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa was established in 2003.

by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of the Government of Haryana. The university has been named in the honor of the former Deputy Prime Minister of India, late Chaudhary Devi Lal.

The university has great potential for developing into a centre of academic excellence to cater the students belonging to Haryana and other states of the country.
