Chanchal College (CC), Malda was established in 1969. Its affiliated to Gour Banga University.

This is a renowned college in this District. The primary objective of this college is to provide a scope & opportunity of higher education to the people of this locality specially the people who are economically weak. The institute strives for socio-cultural as well as educational upliftment of the surrounding areas populated by backward communities.

The College is a grant in aid institution of West Bengal Govt. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure.

The College comes under the Gour Banga University, established in 2008 and situated in Malda District. The University was started with a mission to disseminate knowledge to fulfill growing socio-economic and technical manpower needs in the region. This is a State University established under the West Bengal Act XXVI 0f 2007.

The University is approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
