Chakdaha College (CC), Nadia was established in 1972. The college is affiliated to University of Kalyani.

Chakdaha College affiliated to the University of Kalyani was born on the 21st of November, 1972 in the cradle of suburban Bengal and has grown over the years into a leading and prestigious UG academy Teaching Hons and General courses in Humanities, Science and Commerce subjects.

The college has three separate and self-sufficient buildings for Arts, Commerce and Science faculties respectively on the three sides of the central college ground. Each building is provided with well illuminated, spacious class-rooms, teachers’ room and toilets. There are also separate administrative building, library and extension buildings inside the college campus.

It is a Self financing and Co-education college. The college is promoting the higher education in this region. The college strives for socio-cultural as well as educational upliftment of the surrounding areas.

The college draws its academic strength from its competent faculties and well-equipped Infrastructure. The college offers the courses in discipline of Arts, Commerce and Science. The college has state-of-the-art technologies and infrastructure. established in 1960.

The University was set-up in the post independence period. it has a three-star accreditation from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University is an academic hub of sub urban region of West Bengal.

The University provides academic guidance and leadership to several affiliated degree colleges and its territorial jurisdiction extends to the districts of Nadia, Murshidabad and parts of North 24 Parganas.

The University is situated in a locality surrounded by a rural setting within a serene background. Yet, its distance from Kolkata is only 50 km. This locational advantage of the University makes it particularly suitable for the 'Cafeteria Approach' to higher education. In this University the total number of academic departments is 25.
