Buniadpur Mahavidyalaya(BM), Buniadpur was established in 2007.

The college is leading a vital role to promote the higher education in this region. The college is involved to impart and encourage comprehensive education of high standard in different branches of learning. The college offers under graduate courses in discipline of arts. All academic activities are carried out in accordance with the Gour Banga University.

The College comes under the University of Gour Banga, established in 2008 and situated in Malda. This is a State University established under the West Bengal Act XXVI 0f 2007.

The core value of the University is Access, equity, excellence, and synergy between teaching and learning on one hand and research and scholarliness on the other. The mission of the university is to pursue excellence in education and professional competence. Along with an excellent academic ambience, the emphasis here is on quality education through various teaching aids and over all development of the students.

The University is approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.
