Bar. S. K. Wankhede University College of Education, Nagpur was popularly known as Br. S. K. Wankhede College of Education established on 4th July 1945 which is conducted college of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Nagpur.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is self-affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Nagpur. It is recognized & approved by Govt. of Maharashtra and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.11 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 17th March 2016.
The notable feature of the college is, all the 15 teaching faculty members are well qualified and competent to record a sense of hard work & responsibility discharge towards an achievement of educational goals. In every academic session, the 200 trainee teachers (Boys & Girls) are admitted in the B.Ed. curriculum.
The college is upgraded by Human Resources Development Ministry Government of India New Delhi in the status of College of Teacher Education (CTE) and in-service training programme are conducted under the banner of CTE.
The college has also granted the Gyanvani broadcasting centre (106.7 KHz) of Indira Gandhi National Open University in the year 2006. The main academic flair of the institution is that the library is enriched with the Number of textbooks, reference book, journals, periodicals & other extraneous Reading materials with the accommodation of 35 students in the reading room.

The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level.
But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
The institution is recognized for an Enhancement and Enrichment of education in the Vidarbha region. The institution spread out in about 32 acres with sufficient availability of well-constructed building.
The institution Conducting the two years regular Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course of 200 intake capacity with all 16 methodology subjects. Besides that, the institution is conducting the IGNOU B.Ed. program for teachers with 100 intake and Master of Education (M.Ed.) program.
The college also has a Contact Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi to offer IGNOU B.Ed. programme for teachers with 100 intake and M.A. (Education) programme.
