Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana's Arts, Science & Commerce College, Pune was popularly known as BJS college, Pune was established in 1995 under the management by Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS)-(Reg.) to give admission preferably to the students from the earthquake-affected area.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
 
The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade (CGPA Score 2.56 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 24th September 2014.

At present, the college has 850 students and 5000 sq. meter, four storied, airy, well equipped and well furnished, attractive building to carve the pillars of a nation through higher education by inculcating basic values and making students of all-round personality.

The college is co-educational institutions, providing regular courses located in the urban part of the Maharashtra. Apart from this, the campus is located in another city also as a different name of institutions.

The aim of the college is a major task would be the creation of a more transparent social fabric across the nation to rid the country from age-old practices followed blindly, generation after generation.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.
 
At present, the college offers a wide range of undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, & Management streams with optional specializations for the students under Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.

The college also has a Study Centre of Yashawantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), Nasik to offer UG, Diploma & Certificate Courses through distance mode.

A variety of teaching and learning techniques are employed to impart knowledge and skills to students in its various departments.

The college has well equipped, airy and spacious class rooms with all modern facilities.
 
The institution has given priority to teaching and learning process. It has created a better teaching and learning environment in the campus through improved infrastructural and human resources.
